Liver patients are prone to GI bleeding. Â Why? Â The liver plays a vital role in coagulation. Â When the liver is not functioning as it should the body is unable to clot blood. Â
Patients with severe liver issues will bleed from, well, everywhere.
While Iâm not a fan of being assigned to a liver patient (hepatic encephalopathy, cirrhosis, etc), I think the entire process of hepatic encephalopathy is so fascinating.
