If you are anything like me, grasping the nervous system didn't come naturally.   Sympathetic vs Parasympathetic, CNS vs PNS . . . it was all pretty confusing to me.   This week's cheatsheet helps to clarify the nervous system and nervous system pharmacology.   One thing that really helped me keep it all straight was understanding epinephrine . . . another name for epinephrine is adrenaline.   The sympathetic nervous system uses adrenergic receptors . . . adrenergic sounds so much like adrenaline and we all know that adrenaline makes us excited and anxious.   By using this little trick I am able to keep it straight that our Fight-or-Flight (Sympathetic Nervous) system uses adrenergic receptors.   Today's cheatsheet will help to illustrate that and provide you with some guidance on pharmacology.
