Nursing Considerations

• do not use with MAOIs
• can cause neurolyptic malignant syndrome, suicidal thoughts, drowsiness, insomnia, diarrhea,
dry mouth, tremors, serotonin syndrome, sexual dysfunction
• monitor mood changes in patient
• takes 1-4 weeks for therapy to be effective.
