  1. Cushing’s Triad (Not the same as Cushing’s Syndrome)
    1. Result of increased intracranial pressure (ICP)
      1. Increased systolic pressure
      2. Widening pulse pressure
      3. Decreased heart and respiratory rate
      4. Treatment
        1. Mannitol –> Only if there are good cells left (Mannitol doesn’t treat edematous cells)
        2. 3% Sodium Chloride –> Run it wide open

Criteria to test includes having 1,750 hours in direct bedside care of acutely and/or critically ill patients during the last 2 years (prior to the exam). 875 hours need to be worked in the year prior to your application.
