These, just speaking as a nurse that has worked for quite a while, these are drugs you really will LEAN on, let me tell you. So, it’s great to understand these kinda inside and out especially what situations. So, if you find yourself as an emergency department nurse, you’re gonna be administering these a lot. These are gonna be your go to, you’re gonna know these backwards and forwards. So, lidocaine can be used in emergency situations for ventricular arrhythmias. So, and then, epinephrine is a vital drug in our ACLS protocol if you’ve got somebody flat lining, that you’re gonna be given some epi. The next thing is Atropine and you give that, that’s your first line with symptomatic bradycardia. And then Narcan is a reversal agent for opiate overdose. So, if you have patients coming back from surgery, and they’re getting way too much pain medication, you’re gonna be hitting them with this and keep in mind, it’s gonna knock off all of those opiate receptors. So then, when they do wake up and if they were in terrible pain, they’re not gonna be very happy with you. But, they’ll be alive. So, that’s important to know.
