Nursing Considerations
- assess for symptoms of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia
- monitor body weight over time
- may cause decreased inorganic phosphates, potassium, and magnesium
- monitor blood sugars every 6 hours, monitor A1C every 3-6 months
